OUR STORY & WHY WE BUILD

I grew up in the Blue-Collar area of Western New York.  Our community, as a whole, learned to play at an early age on iced over ponds, in the woods, using hand me down sticks and skates.  As kids we were glued to our television sets, watching Hockey Night in Canada, and dreaming of one day playing professional hockey.  

 

We watched as Gretzky/Kurri, Lemieux/Jagr skated around teams like pylons, lighting the lamp.  At times it seemed like they were doing it every shift on the ice with ease, grace and raw skill.  They were hockey gods to us as we played year after year, and our inspirations to be better at the game we lived for.   Myself and my friends were in local leagues growing up until our college years at which time we all went our separate ways.  Some of us continued to play in adult leagues, playing the game we loved and keeping alive the dreams from childhood. 

 

I remember always walking around the rink looking at all the sticks, broken and battered, lying in the corners just left for unwanted and worthless. The sticks that were vital to the one’s game, now left unforgotten and deemed dead.  

 

Here at Tape and Twigs Designs we are dedicated to giving sticks we coveted, and called our friends, new life and purpose.  It does not matter if you have moved on from your hockey years, have kids currently playing, or are merely a fan needing something special for a collection or to recognize a special hockey moment, Tape and Twigs Designs can fill that need. 

 

Our motto here is and will always be “giving new life to an old friend”.
